My central question is: how did ancient Greek myths such as the Odyssey shape and form the modern world today? I’m going to research old Greek stories such as the Odyssey and Iliad, and the inspirations they have caused in writers and other storytellers since its inception. I’m hoping to be able to find many stories that have roots in these old tales, and maybe even things outside of stories such as paintings and movies.

Timeline: Just going to use the dates that have already been established
Scholarly Conversation: The work The Classical Journal seems to be written specifically to answer this question, so that might be a great place to start.
Initial Thoughts: I expect that many stories and other related media have been influenced in some way by these ancient stories, each having their own amount of influence. I also think that they have also been very influential in the construction of our world as a whole.
